These are nice beginner guitars! Nice sound and decent quality...definitely for the money. Although you wouldn't want to perform with them, they are a good guitar to get your feet wet with. The boys enjoyed it so much that I will be purchasing electric ones for Christmas. I typically play slower R&R songs and Alternative music along with classic songs. I've had this guitar for over a year...and I love it. The sound is hollow on the low strings and bright on the high strings. If you like this combination... you love this guitar. I have a slightly higher cost Washburn Lyon, too but I prefer playing this one. During my first use, the abrasive material wore right off the surface, leaving the smooth plastic below. Good thing I did not pay any more than I did for these. If I can find the second one I purchased, I will return them both.
