Since growing my hair out, I've been on the hunt for a "professional" curling iron. The "drugstore" variety do not heat sufficiently for my hair texture; therefore, they are rather useless. I've already wasted money trying them out - NEVER again! Hot Tools Professional Model 2102 ceramic titanium 1-1/2 inch barrel is amazing - I am so happy with its quality and super heat output. With 85 watts of variable temperature, ranging from 280�F to 430�F it has plenty of heat to curl all hair textures, including coarse, thick straight hair, like mine. I actually have the temperature control only set half-way, which already produces plenty of heat. I'm happy to discover that the ceramic titanium barrel prevents hair damage such as burning or drying-out, especially when using higher heat. The clamp spring is heavy-duty (very important), giving a nice tight clamp when winding the hair around the barrel. I purchased this curling iron because it features the ceramic titanium. I was actually willing to pay a bit more for a nice curling iron that would be gentle on my damaged hair (coloring and blow drying), so I was happy with the price. I've been using it for a month now, and it does a great job on my hair. Unlike other curling irons, this one doesn't snag or pull my hair as it clamps down. It creates nice larger curls/waves without making 'curling iron kinks' in your hair. I would definitely recommend this curling iron.
