It provides the wide angle advertised with some reasonable barrel distortion giving a slight fisheye aspect to the photo. I bought a 52-58 mm adapter to go along with it and attached it to my Canon A590IS. I had a fun day taking pictures emphasizing the distortion, as well as landscapes widening up the perspective. It's a great way to add some creative license to your pictures without breaking the bank. If you've been thinking about a fisheye lens, this is a great way to experiment before you buy a more expensive one. Notice in the final very wide shot (the true .45x) there is some fisheye distortion and a bit of shading around the edges. However, the increase in angle of capture is so dramatic that the effect is worth it. Consider the distortion as part of the effect. |
