Huh?, January 15, 2012 By  CNH Johnson (Charlottesville, VA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: 100 Best Romantic Classics (3 CD Set) (Audio CD) If in compiling a collection of the 100 best romantic classics there's a justification for including "Ride of the Valkyries" (Disc 1) and "1812 Overture" (Disc 3), it escapes me. Nor can the choices in this set be attributed to a depiction of the Romantic Era of music (1810-1910), since Disc 2 is devoted completely to contemporary music. Be forewarned if you're looking for something soothing that generates a sweet emotional response---or even something reflective of a specific period of history: These discs are not those.
