The machine forces hitters to intently focus on making contact with the soft micro training balls, thus developing the visual processing, concentration, and eye-hand coordination that makes hitters great. It holds 26 balls at a time and angle adjusts for different pitching locations. The five-second delay between pitches offers solid repetition training while the auto pitch feature tosses soft practice balls 25 feet at 30 miles per hour with realistic flight. Comes with 12 soft micro Bolt training balls. Adding a SKLZ narrow diameter training bat like the Live Wire increases the challenge for even the most experienced ballplayer. I didnt want to spend alot of money for one, so right off the bat the price is a plus. When it arived in the mail I opened it up and put it together and started spitting balls in the house with it. The balls are small wich will help with eye hand cordination,while also help with her swing. For her age I felt the speed was very apropriate for her age,not to fast and not to slow but in reality good for any age. The machine was set up in my living room floor and I had it shooting balls into a box on my couch to see if its accurate. To my surprise it was pretty accurate. Im going to use this in my daughters school gym durring the winter, and outside in the spring. To sum everthing up if you want something to get your child swinging a bat without spending alot of money this is perfect. You can use it in your yard and not worry about windows. The SKLZ Lighting Bolt Pitching Machine is designed to help improve hand-eye coordination. The micro-balls are roughly the size of American silver dollars, and are shot of the machine at various intervals. Pitching machines are not a perfect substitute for hitting live pitching, but they can serve their purpose in improving reaction times. A few notes - - The machine comes with a 4' AC adapter (Which means you will likely need an extension cord) or you have the option of using 6 (six) C batteries (not included) - Comes with 6 blue laced and 6 red laced balls - Has adjustable height - but in reality it will need to e set on something (small table or bucket) since at the highest setting barely gets the ball off of the ground - The final 1-2 balls seem to stick within the machine and fire erratically - not too big of an issue, but sometimes it takes 30-60 seconds before they are launched. - Uses proprietary balls -... I could see my little sluggers getting forced into textbook swings in order to make contact. The balls are not easy to hit unless the batter has a good eye. Definately worth the price of 25 $2 batting cage coins. I would suggest running it off the included power adapter.When batteries get weak, the ball won't fly as far. Same for anything else out there. |
