When I had my fall furnace maintenance done the technician said he tried to lubricate the old motor but it was shot--new humidifier required. Possible cost--around $400 for a new unit and add on installation. Okay that's high but that would be a great new unit and this furnace company is awesome. Yes, he did mention getting a new motor. So i set off to find a replacement motor, and thank goodness for Amazon! Ordered the motor - which was delivered oh so quickly. I took the unit off and partially apart and my husband completed the removal task and completely cleaned the unit. Installed the new motor on the humidifier unit, plugged it in and started it up and works great. If this thing gives me another year or two it more than pays for itself!If you have some basic skills and know how to surf the internet for good advice/instructions (yes, some are supplied) order...
