I have been a scuba and free diver/snorkeler for over 35 years. Through all the various fins I have used I find the Promate to be an excellent all around fin. Nice balance between flex and rigidity and extremely comfortable. Not as long lasting as I would prefer (and I take great care of my gear), but I generally get about 3.5-4 years out of a pair. With their reasonable price, this is a decent investment for the good functionality they offer. Not the best for free diving in terms of length, but I like the maneuverability they offer when down in tight places (caves, etc.). And on long scuba dives they don't come close to fatiguing the calves.
