Cons: 1- No bass sound - a deal breaker if that's what you were expecting. 2- it's large when compared to the new generation of portable speakers. 3- Makes you think that it includes a mini-speaker but there is nothing but a hole under the small grille. For bass-lovers, I recommend Satechi speakers. ***UPDATE*** The included retractable audio cord stopped working after just 3 months of use. I emailed Boombotix twice but no reply. Now I use a regular audio cord but that makes it difficult to clip to my bike and all but immpossible to clip it to my clothing. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful ![]() Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Boombotix BB1 Portable Speaker for iPod/iPhone, MP3 players & computers - Purple (Electronics) I like the idea of the Skullyboom, but there are some flaws in the execution that render it only 3 stars. First, the ports on the back are packed in so tight against the clip that their rubber covers do not have enough room when the cord is plugged in. At first it wasn't a problem other than the annoyance of trying to get it plugged in, but after a short while of use, the connection has gone bad, so unless I hold it in place, then it isn't connected properly. Also, the clip is so super tight that it is hard to clip on and then it is very hard to get off. I wish there were multiple ways to attache the product. Finally, as others have written, the sound quality isn't great. It is better than using the speaker on my iphone, but just don't have high expectations. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful ![]() By Ani (Campbell, CA, US) - See all my reviews This review is from: Boombotix BB1 Portable Speaker for iPod/iPhone, MP3 players & computers - Black (Electronics) I have had my Skully for a few months now. Originally I bought the lil fella because it was just the cutest thing I ever did see! I first saw/heard it during a group bike ride through the streets of our neighborhood. It was love at first sight. I had been searching for a small portable speaker to take to work with me and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg to get one with good sound. I had fun personalizing the skully to match my personality and when I received the speaker, I was pleasantly surprised to find extra eyeballs and stickers! Hooray! The speaker lived up to all my expectations and more. It gets me through my workday and goes for days without needing a charge. Money well spent. :) |
