I'm a VERY experienced skin diver. These are the best fins of the many, many I've ever tried over the years. Very different in that you can't kick fast with them, but slow and easy produces lots more power than normal pace with other (split) fins. If there's a current against you, you won't even notice it. I bought these to begin snorkeling down in the Florida Keys. My boyfriend is a much stronger swimmer and has been snorkeling and diving for years. These fins enabled me not only to keep up with him, but I was also able to get back to the boat a lot faster and with less effort. I would recommend these to anyone! They dropped me off in very deep water with a large snorkeling vest that dug into my armpits, and very large heavy rubber fins that were like anchors. It was a hard workout keeping my legs horizontal, It was a struggle keeping me a float. The snorkel they supplied me with was always letting water in my mouth. I thought I was going to drown. I am serious! I struggled to keep a float and was last to get back to the boat because I was tired a worn out. The party with me brought their own snorkeling equipment with them and had a great time (They went on several cruises). Of course they did not mention anything to me before the trip that it was best to bring my own gear. The next year I brought my own gear.
